We take this opportunity to write to you and to inform you of the great changes in our hotel-restaurant this year.
2020 has been a year of reflection for us. We asked ourselves what we could do to be more In charge of our destiny in the eye of exterior circumstances that we cannot control ourselves. Covid of course, but at the same time the seasonality in the tourist branch in this lovely countryside, that stops us from working every winter and prevents us from hiring long-term staff. And of course: what is the impact on our seasonal personnel?
We have therefore decided to completely alter our activities by creating the “l’Ateliers de conserves”. We have enlarged our kitchen this winter In order to install the necessary machinery to be able to produce quality jars of food.
Unfortunately we have had to decide to close the hotel and restaurant as you know it. The autoclave (sterilizer) for the production of our food jars makes too much noise to be able to guarantee our guests the peace and quiet they deserve during a stay with us.
We will now open a “la magasin de la conserverie” during the weekends in low-season and during the high season we open every day from 12 a.m. till 6 p.m. You will be able to come and eat our meals sold in jars or buy them as a take-away during opening hours.
The jars represent a full meal: a starter, a main dish and a dessert. Balanced, tasty and produced with fresh, local products with a long term expiring date (several years) and of course, 100% handicraft as they are prepared with the love of Philippe for his food. Our jars will be gluten-free and some even without lactose, to reach a large public as was already the case in the last years of our restaurant.
As such we come full-circle!
It is exactly 25 years ago that we came to live here with our children in this beautiful region to open our hotel/restaurant in the old dilapidated auberge. We made you welcome all those years, and now a revolution takes place in this year 2021, where we offer you a new concept, both innovative and traditional: the “bocal” delicious food in a jar!
All these years of meeting our guests have left us with beautiful memories. We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness during all those years and will be delighted to welcome you when you visit us on your way through the region this summer.
All the best,
Philippe & Marianne
